Estee Lauder has reformulated is re-introducing its Advanced Night Repair Serum, and is currently giving out free samples at their beauty counters!
The Night Repair Serum has been around for 27 years, but this is the first update on its formulation for their product since it came out! It employs the use of an exclusive patented Chronolux Technology to repair past damage to the skin, address and neutralize damaging environmental effects before they become permanent, soothe daily skin irritation and aims to improve the appearance of age-related lines, uneven skintone and provides immediate hydration with moisture magnet hyaluronic acid. Its a high-performance anti-aging serum inspired by groundbreaking DNA research to bring about a dramatic reduction in the visible signs of aging.
Estee Lauder was one of the first skincare companies to understand the importance between skincare, DNA damage and skin aging, leading to the award winning Night Repair Serum. Now, the new Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex will provide continuous, comprehensive and optimised skin repair by supporting the the skin repair and protection processes so there is comprehensive repair at the right time. Furthermore, they have also included a new patented encapsulated technology Alkyl Guanine Transferase (AGT) which is a natural repair enzyme found in our skin protecting us from environmental damage such as sun, smoke and pollution.
For best results, apply several drops nightly to clean skin over the face and the neck before moisturizer.
Although I have used it for one night, and the results the next day was amazing! I was impressed that my very dry skin was well hydrated and radiant when I woke up! I also did see an improvement in the appearance of my fine lines, but I am unable to comment if it would improve the appearance of deeper lines.
The product is Dermatologist-tested, Ophthalmologist-tested, Non-Acnegenic, Fragrance Free, and can be used on all skin types. Samples for the Advanced Night Repair can be obtained from Estee Lauder counters, so hurry before they run out! More information on the product can be found on their website, click here for the link.

Ever wondered how to maximise your chances of getting pregnant without resorting to go on medication or surgery? Well, I found this book in the library- The Fertility Diet by Jorge E Chavarro and Walter C Willett.
This book is actually based on The Nurses’ Health Study, a research done by the Harvard School of Public Health examining the effects of diet and other lifestyle habits on fertility in nearly 20,000 nurses over 8 years. From all the information gathered, they made the following recommendations:
- Avoid trans fats, the artery clogging fats found in many commercially prepared products and fast foods.
- Use more unsaturated vegetable oils, such as olive oil or canola oil.
- Eat more vegetable protein, like beans and nuts, and less animal protein.
- Choose whole grains and other sources of carbohydrate that have lower, slower effects on blood sugar and insulin rather than highly refined carbohydrates that quickly boost blood sugar and insulin.
- Drink a glass of whole milk or have a small dish of ice cream or full fat yoghurt everyday; temporarily trade skim milk and low- or no- fat dairy products like cottage cheese and frozen yoghurt for their full fat cousins.
- Take a multivitamin that contains folic acid and other B vitamins.
- Get plenty of iron from fruits, vegetables, beans, and supplements but not from red meat.
- Beverages matter: water is great; coffee, tea, and alcohol are OK in moderation, leave sugared sodas unopened.
- Aim for a healthy weight. If you are overweight, losing between 5-10% of your weight can jump start ovulation.
- Is you aren’t physically active, start a daily exercise plan. If you already exercise, pick up the pace of your workouts. But don’t overdo it, especially if you’re quite lean- too much exercise can work against conception.
And another interesting fact I picked up in the book regarding how long does it take before becoming pregnant:
Taking from the time a couple stops using contraception, one-third become pregnant in the first month. By 3 months, half are pregnant. By 6 months, 80%, and at 1 year, 90% are pregnant! So if you try hard consistently, the chances of striking is really high!
Good luck trying!
