I love this book! Bobbi Brown’s latest publication, the Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual, a gem for all those who are interested in makeup.
I found the book really useful and practical. It had a good layout and order of topics beginning with good skin, then progressing to the makeup tools and then steps and tips for each individual facial features, before focusing on different looks. Each chapter also has helpful tips bulleted in boxes.
The book is targeted for those considering makeup as their professional career, but even those who are beginners and are keenly interested in personal makeup application will find it helpful- just skip the chapters on building your career in the makeup industry. However, for those who are already professional makeup artists, you might not find the book as helpful.
The book has wonderful photographs which illustrate her points well, and she has used models of varying skin types and races. And she devotes a large chapter to skincare, which I feel is very important! Good makeup requires a good canvas, and so good skin is a must!
I would strongly recommend this book to anyone interested in makeup, especially if you’re planning on a makeup career!
